Existence (Taoist Text)

Taking an obscure Taoist quote on the nature of existence, layering texture and pattern as a metaphor for primary and secondary causes. The artist as a means to an end. The artist enveloped in another becoming. A disintegration of befores, a choosing of afters, a now spliced between then and maybe.

Adornments of random delight, fluid of dragon lines, philosophical paradox.

The text is a translation of an ancient Taoist treatise on the nature of existence.
The seal is of my name, broken down into syllables and represented with auspicious characters that tell their own story. Me and not me.
The textures are of drying paint and ink, chosen but not created.
The words, not mine, but a shadow of the original Chinese.
All metaphors within metaphors.
