Ghosts Of The Neoclassic

A flow of marble and light. Photograph details and manipulations of a wall plaque in Brecon Cathedral.

As I was collating some images for the project "Death and the Maiden" I came across a few photographs taken of monumental sculpture in Brecon Cathedral, Wales. Playing with them a little, I really loved the luscious, erotic, liquid flow of drapery the sculptor had created in the marble. Neoclasical ectoplasm, incense rising to heaven mixed with grief, stone turned tears, tangled hands, cold as marble, white eternity lost in shadows.
