Iceland Shore

Midwinter Iceland landscapes, subtle light, subtle colour, biting cold.

A short visit to Iceland to collect iamges of stone and land became an exploration of vast, cold spaces with unusually cold and snowy weather. It was mid December, days very short (dawn about 10.30am). Cloudbanks of massive violet hung over the sea most of the time. Ice winds blew down from the glaciers. Travel was slow and precarious.
