River's Song (Wolf's Leap, Abergwesyn)

Ambient landscape images, rock and water tunnelled through time. Dark and light squeezed together. A dusty lamp rubbed.

A narrow, hidden ravine in the upper valley of the River Irfon, Abergwesyn. I have been meaning to visit for a while. A few dry days had dried up some of the boggy ground a little, but the light was strong August afternoon - bleaching detail and creating deep shadow. The original photographs were thus average. A little digging beneath the visible, however, turned up some interesting compositions. In Wales the ghosts of darkness and light do not lurk far beneath the benign views.
