Rock and Water
Creating dream-like images with photo-manipulation, reminiscent of the gestural landscapes of the great Chinese and Japanese pen-and-ink artists.
I visited Pwll Bo (Pool of the Wraith) recently. It had been dry for a week or too and the river Irfon was as low as I have seen it. Many rock formations I had not previously seen were exposed. Following a theme I have been exploring, I rendered the images to suggest pen and ink after the Classical landscapes of China and Japan. Some became more like etchings or the illustrations of Arthur Rackham. I am wanting to combine these sorts of image with text (English and/or Welsh), but not yet found the best way yet.
