A small series of related pieces with image and text. The heavy texturing is highlighted with oxidation and reminds me a little of Chinese and Japanese brushwork. Above is the piece entitled "Breeze"
This is the ffirst piece in this series, called "Rise".
The magpie imagery i have had around since the beginning of the year, but haven't put together in the way I then envisaged.
Like a lot of my work, it came together by playing around with elements I had sitting round in the studio. Once the concept crystallised a little around the 'landscape' textured rectangular frame, it allowed me to play around with ideas of texture, movement and stillness
This is the thrid piece "Whisper". The root/tendril theme will probably come into the next few designs as well.
